Paper Checks VS Electronic Pay

SSN Vericication Process is getting ready to change

You know how Employers and company's acting on behalf of the employer could verify social security numbers (SSN) over the phone by using the Telephone Number Employer Verification (TNEV).
Well coming this fall you won't be able to check them by phone...Now you'll need to be registered and use the SSNVS on-line service to get your verification. A good web site to look at is www.socialsecurity.gov/employer which will help you get registered.

 Make sure you have a current pay stub so you'll have the right data to enter.

Minimum Wage Increases on the 24th...

Over 30 states will increase their minimum wage this coming Friday to $7.25 per hour. This is an increase of 70 cents or $28.00 per week based on a 40 hour week. There are a number of 'Ifs and Buts' to the new change pretty much based on age and segment of the economy I.E. agriculture. So make sure you know how this wage increase will affect your business. Where do you stand on HR Outsourcing?

I saw an interesting survey the other day. It asked 1500 Employers why they chose to Outsource.
51% thought of HR outsourcing as just Payroll and tax filing while 23% did think think of it as a full range of HR activities.
Further breakdown shows the primary benefits of HR outsourcing; 20% said it minimizes risk, 19% increased productivity, 15% saves them money 14% saves them on hardware / software solutions and 12% said it improved service and employee satisfaction.
Another 12% said that the new federal and state legislative changes would make them more likely to outsource.
Well there you go...1500 employers...What do you think?

Crazy...I was at the Barns & Noble book store yesterday and you know how they have the display tables set up as you walk in...Well on the 2nd table there was a book 'Outsourcing for Dummies'.
I thought to my self 'Outsourcing really is catching on'! So I went back to the Business / Finance section and there must have been 12 different books on Outsourcing. They ranged from 125 pages to 475, but the theme was the same... 
If your the Owner, CFO, Controller, HR Director etc. you should really look into how Outsourcing can benefit your company.
So I thought that it was pretty cool that they were publishing so many books on what Management 2000 has been doing for 15 years!
