Paper Checks VS Electronic Pay

Wednesday, August 12, 2009 by Payroll Manager
If you are still generating paper checks for your employees now may be a good time to consider going to Electronic Pay (Direct Deposit). Think about it...Direct Deposit has been around for over 30 years, yet employers still generate paper 'live' checks for their employees every pay period.
I understand that some employees don't have a banking relationship but, that's why they created Payroll Cards. Some of the benefits of eliminating paper 'live' checks are:
You'll have less escheatment reporting (un-cashed checks). Less payroll check fraud. Bank account reconciliation becomes much simpler. Fees associated with check clearing drop. Lost check replacement calls go away. Each state have their own laws / reg's that you need to know...Management 2000 (Professional Employer Organization) knows the laws and how to encourage the employees to go paperless. The relationship with Management 2000 saves the employer 'time and money' and the employees are much happier...it's a win - win.
