Maintaining good housekeeping is an important part of the overall job of supervision.

     Avoidance of accidents is the major goal of most companies. That occasional piece of scrap or wet spot on the floor can cause slip, trip and fall hazards. Cluttered aisles and congested work areas can also add to the dangers. A thorough and successful housekeeping plan can eliminate alot of hazards in the workplace, it makes good sense for every business to have one.
     Housekeeping can appear to be a never ending and thankless job, but if there is to much dirt and debris, and disorder are allowed to accumulate, this can lead to production problems by increased accidents, absenteeism, and turn over. Typically you will find the businesses that have good housekeeping in place, have very competent supervisors and an extremely low accident rate.
